Lawrence’s Schwartz picks “best parts” of previous races to take 7th at state, positions himself near top of next year’s 6A returners; Garrett sings ‘bye-bye’ to high school XC career with her 38th-place finish in 1st, final state outing
Junior Oliver Schwartz was the only Lawrence High runner in the boys race, while senior Andie Garrett competed solo in the 6A girls race. Schwartz took seventh while Garrett closed out her high school cross country career with 38th-place finish.

Free State sophomore Laurel Stancil led the way for the Firebirds at the 6A state tournament. Stancil shot a 90 on Day 1, allowing her to make the cut for Day 2 by a few strokes. Free State collectively shot a 397.
